Rocket League Revenue-Sharing Esports Shop Adds Four More Teams

Psyonix, developer of Rocket League, a hybrid game between soccer and jet cars, will add in-game items for four new esports teams entering Rocket League competition as part of its pilot program. The teams being added are eUnited, Pittsburgh Knights, Team Reciprocity, and Veloce Esports. Each team will see organization-branded skins available for vehicles, wheels, and player banners. 

Starting on Feb. 4, just after the opening weekend of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Season 9 regular season, new items can be purchased online inside and outside of the game platform. 

In addition to the four new branded skins being made available for purchase, NRG will see its in-game content updated with its new logo and color scheme as well.

Now, 14 teams will have in-game items available for purchase. Those teams are Cloud9, Dignitas, eUnited, G2 Esports, Ghost Gaming, mousesports, Pittsburgh Knights, Renault Sport, Spacestation Gaming, Rogue, Team Reciprocity, Team SoloMid, Team Vitality, and Veloce Esports.

The Esports Shop was launched in April 2019 and distributes to participating teams a 30% share of revenue generated by sales of each team’s skins and items.
