What has helped farmers in Pennsylvania are the forward-thinking policies of Gov. Wolf, our state legislature and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, who have prioritized soil health, farmer profits and environmental health by passing a state farm bill in 2019. Transitioning to organic is one of this bill’s six pillars, committing to move Pennsylvania from the number two to the number one state for organic farms in the country and meet the demand for local organic products.
