Once we found out about medical insurance for pets, we knew with our active lifestyle it was a necessity. Sadie joins us on all of our adventures. Having Trupanion gave us the peace of mind to know we would be covered in case of an emergency.
After a recent snowfall, we brought Sadie with us on a hike. We didn’t make it half a mile in before she began limping and not bearing weight on her back left leg. After a vet appointment and some x-rays later, she was diagnosed with a torn cranial cruciate ligament. VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (CAVES), where we brought Sadie, had Trupanion’s software. They were able to approve our surgery treatment plan and pay CAVES directly within minutes, agreeing to cover over $3,300! I only needed to pay my portion of the bill at check-out.
This made the decision for her to undergo surgery a no-brainer. Not only was her surgery covered, but we also hit her lifetime deductible for that condition.
Now we can focus our full attention on Sadie recovering and not worry about recovering our finances.
