Brazilian gaming entertainment company Final Level is officially launching its esports exclusive branch, called Gamelanders. The organization will be run by Final Level Content Director Gabriel Araújo and Director of New Businesses Gabriel Duarte, under co-founder and CEO Fernanda Lobão.
According to Lobão, the new brand was created to evidence the mentality and content difference to what Final Level proposes, even though some linked actions will be held between them: “Final Level targets the gaming lifestyle and playing for fun. With Gamelanders we will focus more on the competitive side of gaming.”
With over 4M subscribers to its YouTube channel, which follows a content model similar to the one made by FaZe Clan, Final Level hopes to become the “biggest gaming entertainment platform” in the world. Gabriel Duarte told The Esports Observer this mentality will also be brought to Gamelanders, seeking to be the biggest and most victorious organization in Brazil and a strong representative of the country in international tournaments: “We’re in this to win, not only to participate.”
To date, the only roster team operated by Gamelanders is for Riot Games’ VALORANT, which has already won two tournaments in Brazil. Lobão told The Esports Observer that the next steps for the team might involve moving it to the United States, where it can have easier access to international competitions.
Besides VALORANT, Gamelanders plans to move into different esports, but it has not specified its next steps. Sources in contact with The Esports Observer have indicated it has applied for a spot on the Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLoL) franchise, which will be established next year.
Final Level already counts with sponsors as Coca-Cola and Subway, but Gamelanders is still open to discuss and close deals. The company is owned by multiple investors, such as Felipe Neto, one of the biggest YouTubers in Brazil; former Brazil National Volleyball Team coach Bernardo Rezende (Bernardinho); former communications giant Grupo Globo executive João Pedro Paes Leme; and the GO4IT Capital group, which holds the majority of the shares.
