Automation is becoming more common in the workplace and two Brookings Institution authors join Cincinnati Edition to talk about the impact of machines on jobs and people, as well as what it means to our region.
The Brookings Institution recently released two reports, Automation and Artificial Intelligence: How Machines Are Affecting People and Places, and The Case for Growth Centers: How to Spread The Innovation Across America.
We also hear about how the University of Cincinnati is helping bring students and businesses together to meet the needs of today’s high-tech workplace.
Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the Brookings Institution reports are authors Mark Muro, senior fellow and policy director, and Research Associate Robert Maxim. In studio to discuss the UC Cincinnati Information Technology programs and 1819 Innovation Hub are David Adams, the Chief Innovation Officer at the University of Cincinnati; Hazem Said, Ph.D., professor and director of the School of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati; and Rich Hill, the leader of strategy and architecture for Merchant Solutions at FIS.
