If like us you’re a classic car enthusiast, the name “Retromobile” should ring a bell… And if not, it’s about time for you to know what this truly superb event is. Retromobile is an annual classic auto show held in the French city of Paris, since 1976. It is traditionally the first major classic car show of the year and, as such, it is seen as the trendsetter for the year to come. It is also said to be the second-largest classic car show in Europe, after the “Techno Classica Essen” in Germany. Retromobile is huge, as it gathers over 600 exposing car dealers, auctioneers and brands, over 72,000sqm. But enough of facts… It’s indeed all about passion and love for classic cars – and some truly magnificent ones, to be honest. So here’s a photo report of Retromobile 2020.
Retromobile 2020 is a compilation of anything related to classic cars. As such, you’ll be able to discover the entire spectrum of this industry, from the car dealers, to the auction houses, parts and accessories but also private sellers exposing their cars. Knowing the growing interest of the public for vintage cars, some brands are even officially exposing there (think Lamborghini or Bugatti). It’s also the occasion to see some of the insane cars that will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s, Gooding & Co. or Artcurial Motorcars, or for sale by world-renowned dealers like Girardo, Ascott, Fiskens or Serge Heitz.
Still, don’t think Retromobile is all about inaccessible cars and priceless motors… That’s mainly what you’ll see in the main hall, but the vast majority of the salon is much more down to earth – think parts and accessories for your old 2CV or your beloved Triumph Spitfire. There’s even an entire section of the show dedicated to cars priced at less than EUR 25,000, making Retromobile 2020 a great mix between realistic pleasures and dream machines.
But now, it is time to enjoy a selection of photos of what we’ve seen at Retromobile 2020.
