An autonomous robotic cart made in Mequon was dubbed the “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin.”
The Mobile Autonomous Robotic Cart from MuL Technologies in Mequon was named the winner in the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and Johnson Financial Group 2020 Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest. More than 125,000 votes were cast in the fifth year of the contest.
The robotic cart from MuL Technologies called MARC is completely independent — it can map a facility, avoid obstacles and move things where they need to go. MuL’s cart can be pre-programmed with a destination and single command. The Mequon-based company was founded in 2018.
The winner was announced during the WMC Foundation Made in Wisconsin luncheon Wednesday.
“Wisconsin has a diverse and innovative manufacturing industry, and our finalists portray that,” said WMC President and CEO Kurt Bauer in a news release. “From diapers and children’s clothing to industrial machinery and robotic carts, we congratulate our finalists and all of our nominees in this year’s contest.”
The finalists included Caterpillar Global Mining in South Milwaukee, C.C. Moo LLC in Stoughton and Kimberly-Clark in Neenah.
