Collaborative robot manufacturer Universal Robots has announced a leasing program in partnership with vendor finance company DLL.
UR is a Denmark-based maker of robots with payload limits of 3, 5, 10 and 16-kilograms, designed to be affordable for smaller companies, easy to reprogram for different tasks, and safe to work alongside of. Their Australian distributors include ADDE, Scott Automation and Visy Automation.
UR Financial Services was launched last month, and announced on Wednesday for ANZ.
According to the UR’s Southeast Asia and Oceania head, Darrell Adams, the lending program would assist a business to “acquire the cobot it needs now without significant down payment. Leasing also ensures you are never stuck with outdated equipment and there are further tax advantages too.” Companies can contact Universal Robot or its distributors, he added.
Universal Robots is the top seller in the collaborative robot market, which is predicted to grow 50 per cent a year to 2025 by one market research firm.
Australia is currently behind other developed economies such as South Korea and the United States when it comes to industrial robot adoption.
