Call of Duty League franchise Minnesota RøKKR, eFuse, and ESPN Esports have joined forces to produce an all-women Call of Duty Warzone event with Crocs as its presenting partner. The #WeRokk Women of the eRena presented by Crocs will have a play-in round on Oct. 21, with the main event to be broadcast on ESPN Esports’ Twitch channel on Oct. 29. The play-in round will be broadcast on the Røkkr YouTube channel.
The competition will feature a $10K USD prize pool. This is the third edition of eFuse and ESPN Esports’ Women of the eRena series, having kicked off the series this summer. For this latest event, RøKKR Director of Content and CoD influencer Ashley “MiDNiTE” Glassel will field a team, as will WNBA star Ariel Powers.
2020 has seen a surge in both women’s esports events as well as brands aligning themselves with these tournaments. Spectacor Gaming recently hosted an all-women Valorant tournament through its women’s initiative FTW, which not only had a sponsorship deal with GFUEL, but it also earned official series status and supplemental prize support from developer Riot Games.
