Jon Spector Promoted to VP of Business Operations and Product Strategy for Overwatch Esports

Activision Blizzard, the publisher behind the Overwatch League (OWL) and Call of Duty League (CDL), announced the promotion of Jon Spector to vice president, business operations and product strategy, Overwatch Esports. According to a release, Spector will continue to manage the day-to-day operations of the league while leading both the team business operations and franchise strategy teams. Additionally, he will also be responsible for overseeing Overwatch League rules, governance, tournament structure, play formats, and delivery platforms.

Spector was one of the first three employees of the Overwatch League, joining the department in March of 2017. Part of team marketing and business operations for the National Basketball Association (NBA), Spector joined Blizzard to help create and facilitate the Overwatch League.

Before his time at Activision Blizzard and the NBA, Spector served as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group where he supported major retail and healthcare businesses. He attended Brown studying economics and political science.

Spector will continue to report to Pete Vlastelica, CEO of Activision Blizzard Esports and commissioner of the Overwatch League.
