ALBANY — EmblemHealth gave the state Department of Labor notice it will be laying off 60 people late this year or early next year at its customer and support services center in Colonie.

The job cuts in Colonie, and a similar number of layoffs at the health/wellness/insurance company’s Manhattan headquarters, are due to the decision to automate its claims processing.

It is the latest in a series of Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification act notices filed by Capital Region employers this summer.

Also filing multiple WARN notices with the state Department of Labor recently was HMSHost, the food service company that runs eateries in public locations. It said any of the 65 employees at Albany International Airport who were furloughed on March 15 would be permanently separated Nov. 15 if not recalled by then.

HMSHost employees at Thruway rest areas face the same fate on Nov. 15, including 23 at the New Baltimore travel plaza and 12 at the Pattersonville travel plaza.
