Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second most abundant cannabinoid in the cannabis plant. But unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), it’s nonintoxicating and federally legal in the United States. What’s more,
But not all CBD is created equal, so it’s important to understand what makes a product safe and a company credible. CBDfx was founded in 2014, and it says it’s now the world’s fifth-largest privately held CBD company. Here’s what to know about the CBDfx’s quality, products, and reputation.
Six years is a long time in the fledgling CBD industry. During that time, CBDfx has earned an A rating on the Better Business Bureau and received positive online reviews. Reviewers commend the company for everything from ease of ordering and the delivery process to the products themselves.
It’s worth noting that some CBD companies have received
CBDfx is pretty open about its products and processes, though there are a few gaps.
Sourcing and manufacturing
On its website, CBDfx says its hemp is organically grown, free of pesticides, and non-GMO. However, the products don’t appear to be certified organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It’s possible CBDfx follows organic farming practices even if the products aren’t certified.
CBDfx also says its products are exclusively produced in facilities that meet
CBDfx uses a supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction process to extract CBD from its hemp. CO2 extraction may result in a product with fewer aromatic terpenes, which are a natural component of hemp. But proponents say it’s a “cleaner” way to process hemp since it doesn’t leave any chemical residue behind, like solvent-based extraction does.
Product testing
CBDfx claims to test its products eight times. Testing is done by CC Testing Labs, which is an ISO 17025-accredited lab. For full transparency and peace of mind, you can access the certificates of analysis (COAs) online or by scanning the QR code on any product.
Each COA includes testing results for:
- cannabinoid and terpene profiles
- potency
- contaminants like foreign matter, pesticides, microbials, mycotoxins, solvents, and heavy metals
Some batches of certain products show a more than 10 percent difference between the amount of CBD the lab found and the amount the product labels promised. But other products are fairly close to the amount advertised.
It’s important to note that test results show isopropanol, a residual solvent, to be present in CBDfx’s tinctures. The company claims to use CO2 extraction, a process in which no solvents are left behind. Also, CBDfx’s gel capsules show potency testing only, not full panel results.
CBDfx offers both full- and broad-spectrum CBD products. Full-spectrum CBD contains all components of the cannabis plant, including THC. Broad-spectrum CBD includes everything except THC.
As far as variety goes, CBDfx has lots of different kinds of products. These include:
- bath salts and bath bombs
- sublingual strips
- vape juice
- beverages
- multivitamins
- muscle balms and joint cream
- face masks, cleansers, and serums
- massage oils
The products are competitively priced, and the CBD bundles offer a reasonable price break. Plus, all CBDfx website orders delivered via USPS ship free.
Reviews about customer service, both on the CBDfx and third-party websites, are generally positive.
The company offers a 30-day customer satisfaction guarantee. If you aren’t satisfied with a product, you can contact CBDfx for return instructions within 30 days of ordering. You’ll get a refund once the product has been returned.

CBDfx has a full collection of gummies, tinctures, edibles, and topicals. If you’re new to CBD, you may be wondering where to start.
To narrow down your choices, consider your motivation for trying CBD. Topicals are a good option for targeting specific sites of pain and inflammation.
For issues like anxiety or poor sleep quality, a tincture, gummy, or softgel may be a better fit. Beauty and wellness products like facial cleansers, masks, serums, and bath products may be best suited for skin benefits and stress relief.
CBDfx offers specific directions for its products on individual product pages. However, in general, it’s best to start with the lowest dose and increase over time, particularly if you’re ingesting CBD or have never taken it before.
Topicals, which are applied directly to the skin, can be used as you would a non-CBD product. Still, start with a small amount and add more as needed.

CBDfx is a big CBD brand that’s been around since 2014. It offers a wide variety of products that are well priced.
The brand provides comprehensive, up-to-date COAs on its site. However, some COAs show a large variation in the amount of CBD the lab found versus the amount the label claims. It’s important to always review a product’s COA before you make a purchase.
If you’re considering trying CBD, be sure to talk to your doctor first.
Is CBD Legal? Hemp-derived CBD products (with less than 0.3 percent THC) are legal on the federal level, but are still illegal under some state laws.
