On October 11 Krishi Jagran conducted the first-ever in the History of Agriculture by having the Women Farmers come together as a group and discuss their brand, their marketing techniques, and their constraints and challenges on our Facebook platform which was much appreciated by all including our Readers, Subscribers, Farmers and Corporates at the same time. #WomenPowerFarmerTheBrand campaign is an initiative by Krishi Jagran under which progressive Women Farmers across the country are being given the opportunity to showcase their products and thereby their Brands.





Divya - Himalayan Haat

The first in line to Speak was Divya from Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand started her Brand Himalayan Haat in 2014. She had already been inspired by her dad who was taking care of their farm and was in farming since 1970. After her dad passed away she realizes there was n value for natural and Organic fruits from the region of Pauri and started her Value addition centre and also gave jobs to women near her area. Currently, the brand has 30-35 products and also has an e-commerce platform called him Her products range from  Coolers, Squash to  Jam which are preservatives and sugar-free. She maintains a regular monthly income of  1.5-2 lakhs/month





Mrs. Varsha Sachin Yevale
Mrs. Varsha Sachin Yevale

The next to speak was Mrs. Varsha Sachin Yevale who is done her degree in Agriculture. She and her husband own a brand Krushidut Agro farm (Organic Farm) where they are not only engaged in farming but also provide training to various others. They also own an outlet with the same brand name wherein they sell a variety of organic products like- Organic Jaggery Lollipop, Jaggery bar, Masala jaggery, Jaggery powder, etc.





Gurudev Kaur Deol

Gurudev Kaur Deol grows vegetables on 3 acres of land and also have an FPO wherein 300 farmers are associated. The produce of various farmers is collaborated and processed to make end products. They have 33 products like Jaggery, Sugar, Masala, Papad, Achar, etc. They sell their products in Punjab and through trade fairs





Vaishali Malviya
Vaishali Malviya

Vaishali Malviya was the next to talk and she talks about her cultivation of Grains, Spices, Wheat, Pulses, etc, The pulses are processed and then sold. She has 3-4 permanent employees and also has 30-40 people on a daily wage basis. The products are not only sold within the country but also have been exported to Bulgaria and the US. Her  Professional Business Degrees have helped her in marketing her brand says Vaishali.





B. Rajasree
B. Rajasree

B.Rajasree from Trivandram, Kerala cultivates Jackfruit, Papaya, Banana, Moringa, Drumstick, and Paddy. Besides fruits and vegetables, she does fish farming and is thus into Integrated Farming. She has recently started organic farming in2 acres. Her brand has 15-20 products with Jackfruit Flour, Jackfruit Macaroni, and Organic Rice Flour being the major ones in demand. The products are sold all over India as per their demand generated through social media. Their products have also been exported to Canada and America. She also has received the State Govt. Horticulture Mission Award for Promoting Jackfruit.





Reena Chandel

Reena started her Agri Processing work in 2016. Currently, she has an SHG with 10 ladies with 40-45 ladies on a daily wage basis. They buy raw material from nearby farmers. Their products are totally hand made with 15-20 products like Papaya Pede, Papaya Barfi, Aonla Barfi, Chutney of Papaya, Aonla Candy, Pumpin Barfi, Lauki Barfi, pickle, and other regional home products. The selling is done on an order basis and also in trade fairs





Dali Rani Das Haloi
Dali Rani Das Haloi

Dali Rani Das Haloi from Nalbari, Assam has a Mushroom Farm & Food Processing Centre and a brand named Arian. The whole family works for mushroom production where they started mushroom production in 2014 after getting Trained from DMR and West Bengal. The majorly grown mushroom is Oyster Mushroom. They also do Value Addition to mushroom-like biscuits, cakes, pickles, and Bhujia. The total production from the bags is 50 kgs with a monthly earning of 3 lakhs.













It was great to have had this opportunity of interacting with selected 6 Women Farmers Nationally. They shared their knowledge and spoke to us regarding the importance of creating Farmer Brands and how effective marketing and value addition needs to be taken up by our country farmers. We hope the Women Folk in the Country gets inspired and each of them becomes a brand on its own.
