ReKTGlobal announces Vikkstar as London Royal Ravens co-owner

Esports infrastructure company ReKTGlobal has announced the addition of popular streamer Vikram “Vikkstar” Singh Barn as a co-owner of the London Royal Ravens.

The London-based Youtube personality will serve as the face of the Call of Duty League franchise, with a variety of content and activation plans in the works.

Amish Shah, co-founder of ReKTGlobal, commented in a release: “When we searched the UK to see who could be the face of the London Royal Ravens, Vikkstar was the unanimous choice for what we are building with the brand going into the 2021 season and beyond. Our fans love him, and this is a big win for the entire ReKTGlobal organisation. We are thrilled to welcome him to the family as a co-owner and trusted partner.”

Vikkstar’s role will include developing content around the London Royal Ravens, collaborating on merchandise, and holding giveaways. Additionally, he will host Call of Duty events and tournaments for ReKTGlobal.

“Evolving from fan to co-owner is not something I thought I would ever accomplish,” added Vikram Singh Barn. “When I started streaming, I set out to be competitive, produce fun content and create a community. 10 years later, I’ll now apply that same passion in support of my local team, The Royal Ravens. Can’t wait to see how fans respond to all the exciting plans we have ahead.”

The streamer is mainly known for being apart of the UK-based YouTube collective, the Sidemen. However, recently he has risen in prominence due to his skill in free-to-play battle royale game Call of Duty Warzone, winning several tournaments in the game and organising his own tournament, ‘Vikkstars Warzone Showdown’.

According to the release, Vikkstar’s integration into ReKTGlobal was made possible partly due to its $35m funding from Summit Partners in October 2020.

Dave Bialek, CEO of ReKTGlobal, added: “Vikram, otherwise known as Vikkstar, is the rarest of the rare in the streaming world. With his passion for streaming, entrepreneurial spirit, engaging personality and diverse audience profile, we instantly knew he was the only choice to serve as the face of the London Royal Ravens.

“As we plan on doubling down on our efforts to grow the London Royal Ravens brand, we’re looking to his guidance to lead us into the 2021 Call of Duty League season and the development of content that resonates with our diverse and rapidly growing fanbase in London, and throughout the world.”

Esports Insider says: Given Vikkstar’s considerable following and connection to both London and Call of Duty, the Royal Ravens could benefit greatly from this association. The upcoming Call of Duty League has been significantly boosted by the reappearance of Nadeshot and H3CZ, whilst adding another well-known face in Vikkstar will significantly drive interest in the CDL and London Royal Ravens.
