Layoffs, Closures Hit Big Local Retail Stores: Patch PM

NATICK, MA — It’s a chilly and gloomy Tuesday in the MetroWest and it seems like Mother Nature hasn’t made her mind up whether the wet weather will stick around for the rest of the week. Wednesday and Thursday should be sunny but Friday and Saturday could bring more storms.

In equally gloomy news, Lord & Taylor’s is planning 162 layoffs across four of it’s Massachusetts stores. Lord & Taylor’s will cut 27 jobs from the Natick location. In Worcester, the Staples store at the Lincoln Plaza Shopping Center is also planning to close this week.

Leonard Morse ER Closure Coming In October

The emergency room at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick will close on Oct. 25, the hospital owner has confirmed, which is the culmination of a plan announced early in 2020 to consolidate medical services in Framingham.
