Electronic Arts and FIFAe Ramp Up for Next Season With New Structure and over $4M in Prize Money

FIFA 21 publisher Electronic Arts announced in conjunction with FIFA that the upcoming esports season for the soccer franchise has a new structure and a prize pool over $4.3M USD.

FIFAe is looking to highlight three competitive divisions for the upcoming season involving players, clubs, and nations with new qualification opportunities for each. Each will have stand-alone events that will feed into what is being referred to as the “FIFA pinnacle event.”

According to EA, competitors will have the opportunity to represent their favorite club [team] in the FIFAe Club Series, compete for national pride in the FIFAe Nations Series, or “create their own legacy in the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Global Series on the Road to the FIFAe World Cup.”

Two of the events, the FIFAe World Cup and the FIFAe Nations Series, now feature a $500K prize pool, with the FIFAe Club Series at $350K. Another $3M in prizes will be disbursed by EA across qualifiers, regional playoffs, the eChampions League, and CONMEBOL eLibertadores as part of the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Global Series.

Additionally, FIFA has announced that registration for the FIFAe Club Series is open and teams and players can sign-up for play. The FIFAe Club Series will start online in November, with the best performing teams of the qualification competing at the FIFAe Club World Cup in 2021.
