By 2021, the intelligent automation market is expected to be $2.9 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of 7% between 2020 and 2025. Manufacturers have benefited from the success of purpose-built robotics that automate specific tasks with higher reliability, fewer repetitive stress injuries, and lower costs. In today’s era of digitization, consumers and businesses are increasingly relying on automation to make their lives and operations easier, according to PTC.

However, innovators and engineers often struggle with real-time collaboration and the design process, including creating a working prototype that works in the physical world. These products also have to meet end-user and application requirements, as well as industry regulations.

In this session, PTC’s John McEleney, who has more than 30 years of product development and manufacturing experience, will share his insights on how to design and develop robots in today’s digital era. He will also share insights on topics including the following:

  • Digital transformation and its impact on product development
  • Challenges and solutions for design efficiency and collaboration
  • Case studies of creating products for the real world
