Battle Sister Hits Oculus Quest & Rift in 2020 – VRFocus

Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 franchise has had a couple of immersive outings in virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), the most recent being The Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth. Today, as part of Facebook Connect, Pixel Toys has revealed action shooter Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister for Oculus Quest and Rift.

Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister

Most Warhammer 40K videogames tend to revolve around the Space Marines and their continual fight across the Imperium. Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister will shine a light on one of the emperor’s other fighting factions, the Sisters of Battle.

You’ll don the armour and wargear of Sister Ophelia, a veteran Sister who is searching for her long lost twin sister whilst fighting hordes of heretics. Facing Chaos Space Marines as well as other monstrosities, you’ll be able to use legendary weapons including Bolters, Plasma Pistols, Flamers, Las Rifles, Power Swords and Chainswords. Additionally, you’ll have use of Acts of Faith, special abilities allowing you to push back enemies and objects, create a force field or slow time when the situation requires it.

Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister will take place across multiple environments, travelling between war torn planets, into alien strongholds and onto massive spaceships designed for one thing – war.

The videogame will feature the story-driven campaign as well as multiplayer features. Details of the latter have yet to be revealed, it may take the form of co-op or possibly an endless horde mode?

Pixel Toys – creators of Drop Dead and Warhammer 40K: Free blade – aim to release Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister for Oculus Quest and Rift by the end of the year. So hopefully more details will be coming soon.

Of course, with it being Facebook Connect today there has been plenty of news to sift through, namely the official unveiling of Oculus Quest 2 which launches in October starting from £299. As further news is released from the annual event, VRFocus will let you know.
